Miscallaneous

My Name

It is pronounced YEE-yahng. Many Americans I know call me "John", which was given by an Australian English teacher back in third grade (in China). I do not mind being called either way.

It has been misspelled as: Yin-yang Shin (folks from Rotary Club), Young Shen (my dentist), Bob Shen (high school classmates), Yijang, Yang. Sometimes people could not remember so they give me a smile and call me "Hey!" (Hence John is easier to memorize, although then people may start spelling "Jon", unfortunately.)
